This dessert is an all-in-one that you can achieve with very little effort. In the end, you can get a poppable treat that is perfect for a breakfast treat or an after dinner dessert.

Sweet Potato Cream Cheese Danishes
Warm, cozy, sweet, buttery, and flaky, all in the palm of your hand. Amazingly easy danishes topped with delicious sweet potato and cream cheese.
Ingredients
Pastry
- 2 Sheets of Puff Pastry
- 1 Egg
Sweet Potato Filling
- 1 Can of Yams or Sweet Potatoes (1 Cup after blending)
- 1/2 C Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 2 Dashes of Ground Cloves
- 1 Egg
Cream Cheese Filling
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 1/2 C White Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Glaze
- 5 Tbsp Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp Milk
Instructions
- Remove Puff Pastry sheets from the freezer and separate them to sit aside and thaw( do not attempt to unfold them).
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Open the can of sweet potatoes and drain all of the syrup mixture if there is some.
- In a bowl, using either a hand mixer, stand mixer, or immersion blender, blend together your sweet potatoes until they are smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 Cup of blended sweet potatoes, brown sugar, spices, and 1 egg.
- In another bowl combine the cream cheese, white sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Once your pastry is thawed enough to move, unfold it and cut it into 6 equal pieces per sheet.
- Score the center of the puff pastry, being sure to leave about ½ to ¾ inch border.
- In the middle, inside the score, place your sweet potato mixture on one half, and your cream cheese mixture on the other. Note: These will expand a bit as they cook so don't overfill.
- Create an egg wash with your second egg and egg wash the exposed borders.
- Place in the oven to bake for 20 minutes.
- While your pastries bake, combine your powdered sugar and milk until smooth to create your glaze.
- Once the pastries are done, allow them to cool and then drizzle the glaze across them and finish with a light dusting of cinnamon.
